Everything is coming along so well! I thought you should know all of the delicious treats I have growing up on the roof in downtown LA:
Black Beauty Zucchini (fighting for their lives against some unknown bugs); Early Prolific Straightneck Squash; Sugar Snap Peas (almost 5 feet tall - peas everywhere!); Oregon Snow Peas (harvested first crop this evening); Green Onions; California Wonder Red Peppers (still babies); Spinach (have eaten several LARGE bowls full!); Musclun Lettuce (beyond delicious); Cilantro; Spearmint; Basil; Thyme; Sage; Oregano... Can't wait for spring and my spring plantings!
What are YOU growing?

Sugar Snap Peas

My sugar snap peas, started from seed on November 8.
It looks like all the seeds have sent mercenary shoots to the surface, searching for sunlight. All have successfully completely the first test of survival. Soon, they will be shooting out arms, looking for a place to climb.
The beauty of "climbers" is that they can grow well even based out of a very small foot print. With a good trellis and some sunshine, you can easily grow climbers almost year-round in the southwest USA. Climbers, like sugar snap peas, are great candidates for urban gardening!
